MOMENTS
Humbled by his Creation
It was 3:00 in the morning when I left Stavanger.
The trail to Preikestolen was dark, wet, and slippery. Moss-covered rocks and loose scree demanded careful footing as I climbed steadily upwards. For hours, the only sounds were my own footsteps and the wind moving through the mountains.
By the time I reached the plateau, low clouds drifted across the fjord below, hiding and revealing the landscape in equal measure.
Then the sun arrived.
The first light broke through the clouds and spilled across the water far beneath me. The long climb, the cold, and the darkness were quickly forgotten.
Some rewards cannot be measured by distance or altitude. They arrive quietly, after the effort is already behind you.
