Secret Falls of Fitz Roy

When I first made the long walk into this corner of Patagonia in 2010, very few photographers knew of this place. Reaching it required effort, patience, and a willingness to venture beyond the well-trodden trails. Over the years, word spread, and what was once a quiet location became a destination for photographers from around the world.

Yet some things have not changed.

Set beneath the imposing peaks of Fitz Roy and Poincenot, the Secret Falls still offer one of the finest viewpoints in Patagonia. At sunrise, the mountains catch the first light of day while the falls provide a perfect foreground to the scene.

More than a decade later, I found myself standing here once again. But the landscape remains much the same — wild, remote, and every bit as compelling as the first time I saw it.
